Title

Substitute resolution relative to an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement between the City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County regarding the Trauma Response Partnership.

 

Analysis

This substitute resolution authorizes the Health Department, Dept. of Administration, Fire Department, and Police Department to enter into an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement with Milwaukee County’s Department of Health & Human Services. The agreement outlines the roles and responsibilities of the City and County in delivering the services of the Trauma Response Partnership, a joint effort that has been in place since 2015. The agreement provides needed updates to the agreement and formalizes the role of the Department of Administration in managing the work, through the Office of Community Safety & Wellness.

 

Body

Whereas, the City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County wish to continue the cooperative delivery of trauma-informed care to help Milwaukee residents impacted by violence or traumatic events; and

 

Whereas, the Trauma Response Partnership was initiated in 2015 to provide funding and coordinate information and resources to improve access to trauma-informed care; and

 

Whereas, the Agreement attached to this resolution updates and revises the roles and responsibilities of the City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County in carrying out the Trauma Response Partnership, including handling of patient data and physical health records as required by federal and state laws and regulations; now, therefore be it

 

Resolved, that the proper City officials are authorized to execute an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement substantially similar to the agreement attached to this file.
