Analysis

This resolution grants a portion and denies a portion of the appeal by Bedrock Capital Group, LLC of the interim historic designation for the Hide House at 2625 South Greeley Street.

 

Body

Whereas, On June 15, 2009, in accordance with s.308-81 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances, the Historic Preservation Commission voted to impose interim historic designation on the Hide House property located at 2625 South Greeley Street; and

 

Whereas, The owners of the property, pursuant to s.308-81-10.5, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances, are entitled to appeal the Commission's decision to impose historic interim designation to the Common Council, and the owners filed a request for a hearing of this appeal in a timely manner; and

 

Whereas, The Zoning, Neighborhoods and Development Committee reviewed the appeal at a July 23, 2009 meeting and, by a vote of 3-2, denied that portion of the appeal relating to buildings 1 through 4 of the Hide House complex and granted that portion of the appeal relating to the remaining buildings in the Hide House complex; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the June 15, 2009, decision of the Historic Preservation Commission to impose interim historic designation on the Hide House located at 2625 South Greeley Street is affirmed with respect to buildings 1 through 4 and is overturned with respect to the remaining buildings.
