Analysis

This resolution authorizes an easement for the installation of utility facilities on City-owned property.

Whereas, WE has requested a twelve-foot by one hundred and fifty-foot permanent easement at the northwest corner of the subject lot to relocate its current facilities away from a new apartment building development, under the conditions outlined in the Distribution Easement Underground, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File; and

Whereas, WE has offered the City $3,000 as consideration for the easement, which represents fair compensation given the low impact on the property and its continued availability to the neighborhood as a park; and

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that said easement with WE at 2168 South Kinnickinnic Avenue is approved and that the proper City officials are authorized to execute the easement; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the easement proceeds, less a 30 percent fee to the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee, shall be credited to the City Park Fund.
