Minutes note: The question was put: Have the members of the Common Council read the Report and Recommendations of the Utilities and Licenses Committee, and any written exceptions, if filed, in this matter? All present members indicated that they had done so, D'AMATO excused The question was put: Are the following applicants or their counsel present and wish to address the Council?: Thomas Holmes was present in the person of Attorney Chris Eippert. Attorney Eippert addressed the Common Council. Assistant City Attorney Bruce Schrimpf appeared and addressed the Common Council. Craig Dampeer was not present. Olayinka George was not present. Dolores Burns was not present. Norman Landry was present. Norman Landry appeared and addressed the Common Council. Assistant City Attorney Bruce Schrimpf appeared and addressed the Common Council. Ald. Witkowiak moved that the committee rise. There was no objection. Ald. Wade asked for suspension of the rules for the purpose of making a motion not in writing. Granted without objection. Ald. Wade moved for the renewal of the Public Dance Hall license of Thomas Holmes without the 10-day suspension recommended by committee, but with the issuance of a warning letter. On the motion: FAIL Hamilton, Davis, Bohl, Donovan, Puente, Murphy, Dudzik, Witkowiak, Witkowski, Zielinski NO; Hines ABSTAIN; D'Amato EXCUSED Ald. Bauman moved for suspension of the rules for the purpose of making a motion not in writing. Granted, Dudzik Ald. Bauman moved to postpone the implementation of the suspension of the Public Dance Hall License of Thomas Holmes until September 5, 2005. On the motion: FAIL Hamilton, Bauman, McGee, Wade, Witkowski and Zielinski AYE; Hines ABSTAIN; D'Amato EXCUSED Ald. McGee requested unanimous consent for the purpose of making a motion not in writing. Granted without objection. Ald. McGee moved to reduce the suspension of the license of Norman Landry from 45 to 30 days. On the motion: PASS Puente, Dudzik, Witkowiak, Witkowski NO; D'Amato EXCUSED
