Analysis
This ordinance amends certain definitions of terms related to certification of small business enterprises by the city to make such definitions consistent with certification requirements approved by the common council in file number 130303, passed on November 5, 2013.
This ordinance also repeals obsolete definitions and provisions.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 355-13-4-d of the code is repealed. (Note: The provision being repealed reads as follows:
355-13. Other Requirements.
4. SMALL BUSINESS ENTERPRISES.
d. If the developer demonstrates that the city-certified small business enterprises are not available in either sufficient numbers or in the necessary areas of expertise, then the developer may utilize city-certified minority or woman business enterprises for purposes of compliance with this subsection.)
Part 2. Section 370-1-10 of the code is amended to read:
370-1. Definitions.
10. ENTERPRISE ZONE means an area within the [[ Milwaukee metropolitan area]] >>city<
Part 3. Section 370-1-11-0 of the code is amended to read:
11. INDIVIDUAL AT A DISADVANTAGE means a person who is at an economic disadvantage, who is a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States and who is experiencing substantial difficulty in achieving business-related success [[in the Milwaukee metropolitan area]] as a result of at least 3 of the following...
