Substitute resolution authorizing acceptance and funding of the grant award from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the City of Milwaukee's Housing Opportunities For Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) Grant for 1998.
ANLS:

This resolution authorizes the Community Block Grant Administration to accept HOPWA grant funding in the amount of $363,000, consistent with its revised Consolidated Plan submitted to and approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and authorizes the Community Block Grant Administration to execute and implement HOPWA projects.

BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee has been notified of an award of Community Development entitlement funding for HOPWA activity in the amount of $363,000 for 1998; and

Whereas, The 1998 HOPWA Program activity for the City of Milwaukee has been reviewed and approved by the Community Development Policy Committee on September 21, 1998; and

Whereas, CCFN 970385 authorized the submission of a revised Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan for 1998 consolidated community development entitlement funding; and

Whereas, It has been determined that operation of the HOPWA programs for one year would cost approximately $363,000 of which $363,000 would be provided by the Grantor; and

Whereas, There is no local share required for this grant program ; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Mayor of the City of Milwaukee is designated as the authorized representative of the City of Milwaukee in connection with all matters relating to the City's 1998 HOPWA Program; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City of Milwaukee assures and certifies that it will comply with the regulations, policies, guidelines and requirements with respect to the acceptance and use of Federal HOPWA funds as specifically delineated in the Grant Aw...
