Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of a Waste Tire Management Grant. (Health Department)
ANLS:
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund a Waste Tire Management Grant project from the State of Wisconsin Deparment of Natural Resources in the amount of $102,716 with a city share of $52,716 and a grantor share of $50,000. The purpose of the project is to increase efforts in the area of licensing unserviceable tire generators and transporters as well as field inspection, investigation, monitoring and emergency clean-up of illegally dumped and stockpiled waste tires within the community.
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to increase efforts in the area of licensing unserviceable tire generators and transporters as well as field inspection, investigation, monitoring and emergency clean-up of illegally dumped and stockpiled waste tires within the community; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 06/01/97 to 06/30/98 would cost $102,716 of which $52,716 (51%) would be provided by the city and $50,000 (49%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the State of Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Encumber in the parent accounts of the 1997 Special Revenue Accounts-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project titled Waste Tire Management Grant: .nf
