Analysis
This ordinance:
1. Expands the area exempted from the prohibition on parking vehicles in the same location for more than 24 hours, and exempted from the alternate-side parking requirements (except during announced department of public works operations), to include the entire 3rd Aldermanic District, and designated areas in the 4th, 6th, 8th, 12th and 14th Aldermanic Districts.
2. Reduces the number of consecutive days a vehicle may remain parked in the same location in the exempted area from 5 days to 2 days.
3. Requires alternate side parking in the exempted area from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. when the department of public works announces snow-plowing operations or other public works operations are underway.

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 101-27-1-a-2-0 of the code is amended to read:
101-27. All Night Parking.
1. RESTRICTIONS.
a-2. The restriction provided in subd. 1 shall be suspended to permit vehicles to [[stand]] >>remain<< in one place on a highway in designated areas for not more than [[5 days]] >>48 hours<< consecutively, except when the department of public works announces snow-plowing operations or other public works operations are underway.
