Analysis
This resolution authorizes an extension to the Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County relating to response services for cellular 9-1-1 calls originating in the City of Milwaukee. That agreement was originally authorized pursuant to Common Council File No. 121203 adopted January 15, 2013. Pursuant to this agreement, a subsequent agreement could be entered into for an additional two year term by mutual agreement in writing between the Milwaukee Police Department and Milwaukee County. This extension will extend the agreement for the period commencing on January 1, 2016 and terminating on January 1, 2018. The amount of this extension will be $491,339 for the 2016 calendar year and $501,166 for the 2017 calendar year, for a total amount of $992,505.

Whereas, The City, acting through its Chief of Police, and Milwaukee County entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement relating to response services for cellular 9-1-1 calls originating in the City of Milwaukee authorized pursuant to Common Council File No. 121203 adopted January 15, 2013; and

Whereas, The term of this agreement expires December 31, 2015; and

Whereas, The parties desire to extend the term of that agreement for an additional two year period commencing on January 1, 2016 and terminating on January 1, 2018; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the mutual extension letters to the Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County attached to this file to extend the agreement for an additional two years is approved and that the Chief of Police is authorized to extend the agreement on...
