ANALYSIS
This resolution authorizes the reimbursement of Emerging Youth Achievement Advisory Council representatives for their attendance at the 2026 StriveTogether Policy Summit.
Body
Whereas, Common Council File Number 252112, adopted April 21, 2026, authorized a partnership between the City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee Succeeds; and

Whereas, Common Council File Number 240521, adopted October 14, 2025, created the Emerging Youth Achievement Advisory Council with the purpose of advising the Common Council on matters related to the achievement of underrepresented youth; and

Whereas, StriveTogether is a national network of local communities working together to put young people on a path to economic mobility; and

Whereas, The partnership between the City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee Succeeds includes collaboration with StriveTogether and the City Accelerator Community of Practice Program; and

Whereas, From June 9 through June 12, 2026, members of the Emerging Youth Achievement Advisory Council attended the StriveTogther Policy Summit to learn best-practices from national leaders; and

Whereas, The Liaison Officer in the Mayor’s Office, serving as a representative on the Emerging Youth Achievement Advisory Council, attended this summit; and

Whereas, The Emerging Youth Achievement Advisory Council approved travel and attendance on its behalf to this summit; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that subject to the approval of the Emerging Youth Achievement Advisory Council of the expenditure of these funds, the Liaison Officer in the Mayor’s Officer shall be reimbursed by the Emerging Youth Achievement Advisory Council special fund in the City Clerk’s Office in the amount of $1,248.78 for overnight accommodations.
