Whereas, Community movie night events provide family-friendly opportunities for residents to gather and engage with one another in a positive and inclusive setting; and
Whereas, Such events help strengthen neighborhood cohesion by fostering social connection, encouraging community participation, and promoting a sense of belonging among residents; and
Whereas, These events enhance neighborhood pride and encourage collaboration among residents, local organizations, and other community stakeholders; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the 5th District Movie Night Fund is declared to be an official City event; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Common Council-City Clerk’s Office is authorized to accept and expend contributions for this purpose; and, be it
Further Resolved, That upon receipt and deposit of these funds, the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to establish a special account within the Common Council-City Clerk’s budget for the expenditure of the contributions; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Office of the Common Council-City Clerk is authorized to accept up to $100,000 of contributions for the 5th District Movie Night Fund event and to expend such funds for this purpose or any purpose specified by the contribution in accordance with established City policies and procedures; and, be it
Further Resolved, That all City departments are directed to assist as necessary to make the 5th District Movie Night Fund successful.
