This ordinance authorizes the department of public works to administer a program for the use of bicycle storage lockers installed by the city in city-owned off-street parking lots, public right-of-way or city buildings, on city grounds or on other property owned by Milwaukee county, the state of Wisconsin or the United States of America. The department is specifically authorized to control and regulate the use of such lockers and to collect bicycle locker permit fees. The permit fee for the use of a city-installed bicycle locker shall be $25 for the period from April 1 through October 31 or $40 for an entire calendar year. A refundable $25 key deposit shall also be required.

This ordinance also adds bicycle storage lockers to the list of bicycle parking facilities for which, prior to placement of such facilities on public ways, permits must be obtained from the department of public works. No such permit shall be required when installation is performed by the department.
