Title

Resolution authorizing the Milwaukee Fire Department to extend access to the Tax Refund Interception  Program for private ambulance companies.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Fire Department, through its Chief, to extend the authorization of the use of the Tax Refund Interception Program (TRIP) for private ambulance companies providing 911-based emergency medical services within the City of Milwaukee under an agreement with the City.

 Body

Whereas, the City of Milwaukee entered into ambulance service provider contracts with private ambulance service providers on or around December 19, 2017 as further set forth in Common Council File Number 171263; and

 

Whereas, extending use of the TRIP program to ambulance service providers providing 911-based emergency medical services was approved via Common Council File Number 211745 on March 22, 2022; and

 

Whereas, providing access to the TRIP program to these private ambulance service providers provides them with additional financial stability as they continue to provide services under their contract with the City; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Milwaukee Fire Department may continue to extend access to the Tax Refund Interception Program (TRIP) to private ambulance companies providing services within the City of Milwaukee under an agreement with the City for the term of the Private Provider Agreement; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, that additional authorization for extensions be approved by the Common Council: and, be it

 

Further Resolved, that the Fire Chief is authorized to sign such agreements as are necessary to provide this access.
