Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to enter into a funding agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT) for alteration of traffic control signals in conjunction with Federal/State Aid in the form of a Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) Grant in the area bordered by South 35th Street, South 1st Street, West Virginia Street, and West Lincoln Avenue, and to direct installation and/or modification of traffic control signals upon execution of the agreement. This resolution also authorizes the comptroller to establish and transfer funds to the appropriate accounts for the project.

Whereas, The Surface Transportation Program provides cost participation for the installation and/or modification of traffic controls in conjunction with Federal/State Aid in the form of Congestion Mitigation Air Quality Grant(CMAQ); and

Whereas, Preliminary engineering, previously authorized by the Common Council under Resolution File Number 931820, for this project has been completed and construction is ready to begin; and

Whereas, The total estimated cost for construction of this project $52,900.00 for the alteration and upgrade of traffic control signals; and

Whereas, Twenty percent of the participating costs, or $10,580.00 is non-reimbursable and is included in the Division's 2005 Capital Purpose Project/Grant Number ST320050000; and
