Resolution relating to acceptance and funding of the 2023 Homeland Security Program Southeast Wisconsin Threat Analysis Center (STAC) Operations grant.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept and fund a 2023 Homeland Security Program Southeast Wisconsin Threat Analysis Center (STAC) Operations grant from the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs Wisconsin Emergency Management in the amount of $61,000 with a city share of $0 and a grantor share of $61,000. The purpose of the grant is continued operational support for the STAC to conduct threat assessment and identification, information/intelligence sharing, and collaboration with public and private sector partners to prevent terrorism and other catastrophic events.
Body
Whereas, Under AL#95.067, the City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs Wisconsin Emergency Management for continued operational support for the STAC to conduct threat assessment and identification, information/intelligence sharing, and collaboration with public and private sector partners to prevent terrorism and other catastrophic events; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 1/1/2023 to 12/31/2023 would cost $61,000 of which, $0 (0%) would be provided by the city and $61,000 (100%) would be provided by the grantor; now therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2023 Special Revenue - Grant and Aid Projects the following amounts for the program/project titled 2023 STAC Operations Grant:
