Analysis
This resolution authorized the Department of Administration's Community Block Grant Administration (CBGA) to apply, accept and fund all Weed and Seed Grants from the U. S. Department of Justice and authorizes the Social Development Commission to exercise administrative and supervisory functions with respect to the Weed and Seed programs funded by the United States Department of Justice.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee is eligible for grant funds for the Weed and Seed Grant programs, under CFDA Number 16.595, from the United States Department of Justice, and

Whereas, The Common Council in Common Council File Number 980248 has approved the administrative and supervisory function of the Social Development Commission for the Weed & Seed Programs; and

Whereas, The operation of these grant programs from October 1, 2003 through September 30, 2004 would cost $302,603 for the Weed and Seed - North, and $309,247 for the Weed and Seed - United South; and

Whereas, The Grantor Share for these grants would be provided as follows:
Weed and Seed - North $225,000
Weed and Seed - United South $225,000

; and

Whereas the City Share for these grants would be provided as follows:
Weed and Seed - North $77,603
Weed and Seed - United South $84,247

; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application and required certifications and assurances to the United States Department of Justice is authorized and the Community Block Grant Administration shall accept these grants without furt...
