Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to commence the deactivation of the traffic control signal at the intersection of West Kilbourn Avenue and North 35th Street for a trial period of one year.

Body:

Whereas, Traffic control signals have been determined as unwarranted on the basis of traffic volumes; and

Whereas, Unnecessary traffic signal operation results in needless energy waste, expense to taxpayers and delay to drivers and pedestrians; and, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works be and hereby is authorized and directed a trial period of deactivation for one year, during which time the traffic control signal at West Kilbourn Avenue and North 35th Street will be shut off and covered and "Stop" signs will be posted for West Kilbourn Avenue traffic.
