Whereas, The City of Milwaukee has, since 2022, recognized the role of community in promoting and celebrating learning by organizing a Back to School Festival; and

Whereas, On Sunday, August 30, 2026 the City of Milwaukee will celebrate its fourth annual Back to School Festival at Indigenous People’s Park in the Second Aldermanic District; and

Whereas, The event will offer activities for children, free food, services, and resources for families to prepare for the upcoming academic year; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Clerk is authorized to expend up to $10,000 from the 2026 Community and Economic Development Committee Fund Special Purpose Account No. 0001-1310-S123-006300 to support the 2026 Back to School Festival.
