ANLS:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Public Library to accept and fund a Grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in the amount of $87,701 with a city share of $1,401 and a grantor share of $86,300. The purpose of the project is to expand public access to computers and the Internet.


BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for the purpose of expanding public access to computers and the Internet; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 02/01/00 to 06/30/00 would cost $87,701 of which $1,401(2%) would be provided by the city and $86,300(98%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Milwaukee Public Library shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2000 Special Revenue--Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project titled "Expanding Public Access to Technology Grant:"
