Resolution authorizing the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a donation for two (2) 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycles from the Harley-Davidson Foundation, Inc.
Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a donation for 2 Harley Davidson motorcycles from the Harley-Davidson Foundation Inc., to promote law enforcement community engagement, specifically with youth. These cycles may be also utilized for special events or other deployments.
Body:
Whereas, Section 304-24 of the City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances regulates the receipt, appropriation, and expenditure of contributions received by the City; and
Whereas, The Harley-Davidson Foundation, Inc. offered 2 Harley Davidson motorcycles for use by the Milwaukee Police Department. These two motorcycles are valued at $41,998.00 (Tri Glide Ultra-$33,499 and Police Sportster-$8,499); now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the City of Milwaukee Police Department is authorized to accept a donation of these 2 Harley Davidson motorcycles from the Harley-Davidson Foundation, Inc.; and, be it
Further Resolved, that such authority to accept donations for said purpose shall continue, unless otherwise rescinded or amended by future Common Council action.
