This ordinance permits a second videogame center within a 1,000-foot radius of an existing videogame center if one of the videogame centers has a Class "B" tavern license.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
 
Part 1.  Section 84-56-2-d-1 of the code is amended to read:
 
84-56.  Qualifications.
 
2.  VIDEOGAME CENTER.
 
d.  Location.
 
d-1.  No videogame center shall be located within 300 feet of a public or private elementary or secondary school , or within 1,000 feet of another videogame center >>; provided however that a videogame center may be within 1,000 feet of another center as long as one center also holds a Class "B" tavern license<<.  The distance shall be measured in a straight line, without regard to intervening structures or objects, from the nearest portion of the building or structure used as part of the premises in which the amusement machines or videogame center is located to the nearest property line of the public or private elementary or secondary school or videogame center.  The location requirement shall not apply to any premises for which either an amusement arcade license or an amusement premises permit has been issued and is in effect on December 31, 1982.
