This ordinance, which is intended to implement the "Transmitter Tower Policy Statement" adopted by the Milwaukee Common Council (File Number 961537) on March 21, 1997:

1. Changes the building and zoning code term "transmitter tower" to "transmission tower," updates the definition for such a structure to reflect modern communication technology and defines the term "reception/transmission system" (the equipment mounted to a transmission tower and used to emit or receive radio frequency waves).

2. Makes transmission towers a permitted use in the following zoning districts, under the circumstances specified:

a. Multi-family residence (towers in R/A/85 to R/C/125 districts that do not exceed the height limits of such dist...
