Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to install a new traffic control signal at the intersection of West Rosedale Avenue and South 6^th Street in the 14^th Aldermanic District with funding from the Department of Public Works capital fund at an estimated cost of $100,000.

Body

Whereas, The traffic volumes at the intersection of West Rosedale Avenue and South 6^th Street exceed federal warrants in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for the installation of a traffic control signal; and

Whereas, The installation of a traffic control signal at the intersection of West Rosedale Avenue and South 6^th Street will provide for a better exchange of right-of-way over the existing stop control; and

Whereas, The estimated cost of the installation of a traffic control signal is $100,000, and is included in the Department of Public Works traffic signal capital fund approved under Common Council File Number 161187; and

Whereas, The installation of a traffic control signal at West Rosedale Avenue and South 6^th Street is scheduled for summer 2017; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized to install a new traffic control signal at the intersection of West Rosedale Avenue and South 6^th Street using funding from the Department of Public Works capital fund.
