Substitute resolution relative to the funding of the year 2021 Additional Disbursement of United States Department of Treasury Emergency Rental Assistance Funds 2.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Department of Administration’s Community Development Grants Administration (CDGA) to accept the Additional Disbursement of Emergency Rental Assistance 2 Funds from the United States Department of Treasury.
Body
Whereas, The City Comptroller’s Office reconciled the previous allocation of ERA2 with the United States Department of Treasury (USDT). The City received notification that excess funds equaling $3.6 million were deducted from our initial allocation, and thus be returned, but came to find that the City was not in possession of the excess funds deducted. After additional discussions, the City was informed to retain the $3.6 million in ERA2-Reallocated funds and is eligible to receive an additional tranche of funding from the original allocation; and
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee is eligible to receive an additional tranche of funds, in the amount of $5,447,026.54, from the United States Department of the Treasury pursuant to Title V, Section 501of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 (“The Act”) to be used for the purposes specified in The Act; and
Whereas, The City desires to expend a portion of the funds received under The Act for the purpose of providing rental and utility assistance to certain low-income residents of the City of Milwaukee affected by the Covid-19 pandemic; and
Whereas, The period of performance of this grant project from 03/11/2021 through 9/30/2025 would cost $9,047,026.54, which will be provided as the grantor share; now, therefore, be it
