Title
Resolution amending Common Council File No. 970900 by increasing the Board of Business Improvement District No. 21 (Milwaukee Downtown) from 17 to 19 members.
Analysis
When the Common Council established Business Improvement District No. 21 on October 14, 1997, it set the size of the Business Improvement District Board at 17 members. This resolution increases the size of the Board to 19 members in accord with a request from the current Board members.
Body
Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee ("Common Council") by File No. 970900, adopted on October 14, 1997, created Business Improvement District No. 21 ("BID No. 21") and approved its first year operating plan; and
 
Whereas, The initial BID No. 21 operating plan and the subsequent annual operating plans approved by the Common Council have specified that the Board of BID No. 21 shall have 17 members; and
 
Whereas, The Board of BID No. 21 has now requested that its size be increased to 19 members to better reflect the diversity of businesses in the Downtown area; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Board of BID No. 21 shall consist of 19 members; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the Mayor is authorized and directed to appoint two at-large members to the newly created places on the Board of BID No. 21 pursuant to the provisions of Section 66.1109(3)(b), Wisconsin Statutes.
