This resolution reserves up to $35,000 in the Common Council Contingent Fund for purposes of staffing the Villard Avenue Library from October 1 through the end of 2003. The money will be used to pay for the services of library and clerical personnel.

Whereas, The Villard Avenue Library, 3310 West Villard Avenue, is presently scheduled for closing on October 1, 2003; and
Whereas, This library, opened in July 1968 as the North Milwaukee Library, provides irreplaceable services to the community surrounding it; and
Whereas, An opportunity has arisen to continue the library's operation through the end of 2003 with the services of recently-retired library personnel; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that an amount not to exceed $35,000 is reserved in the 2003 Common Council Contingent Fund (0001-9990-0001-C001-006300-2003) to pay for the services of both library and clerical personnel for the purpose of keeping the Villard Avenue Library open until the end of 2003.
