ANLS:
This resolution authorizes settlement of the lawsuit of Mary Harris-Lloyd.
 
 
BODY:
Whereas, The plaintiff, Mary Harris-Lloyd had commenced a lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee seeking $50,000.00 in damages; and
 
Whereas, This matter was tried to a jury on January 31st and February 1, 2000; and
 
Whereas, The jury found the City to be 80% negligent with the plaintiff 20% negligent; and
 
Whereas, Plaintiff has agreed to waive costs and any interest owed on the verdict in exchange for prompt settlement; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount $43,081.71 payable to Mary Harris-Lloyd and her attorneys, Stern & Ramthun, LLP, in full and final settlement of this lawsuit, upon receipt of a release of claims, approved as to form and execution by the City Attorney, said amount to be charged to the Damages and Claim Fund, Account No.-636506, Fund-0001, Organization-1490, Program-2631, Sub Class-S118.
