Body
Whereas, The Economic Development Committee Fund is to be used to promote the City’s economic development programs and attract new industry to the City; and
Whereas, Business Improvement District #32, North Avenue/Fond du Lac Marketplace, was established in 2004 to create a viable and sustainable commercial corridor that supports local entrepreneurs, engages current business owners, reduces blight, promotes job growth, advances environmental sustainability, and encourages local, regional or national businesses to locate to the community; and
Whereas, BID 32 is a sponsor of Fondy Fridays Live After 5! live music events, which will take place on selected Friday evenings this summer at the Fondy Park (Fondy Farmers Market) venue; and
Whereas, The focus of Fondy Fridays Live After 5! events is to provide a space for BID 32 businesses and neighbors to engage with each other and to facilitate business and entrepreneurial networking opportunities in the Fondy Park neighborhood; and
Whereas, Up to $2,000 from the Economic Development Committee Fund will be used to provide live music and entertainment at Fondy Fridays Live After 5! events; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that up to $2,000 is appropriated from the Economic Development Committee Fund Special Purpose Account (0001 1310 S123 006300) for Fondy Fridays Live After 5! events.
