Resolution accepting the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation funding and approving the State/Municipal Maintenance Agreement Between the City of Milwaukee and the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the purpose of delegating responsibilities for maintenance of a green infrastructure project in an area around the Port of Milwaukee Overpass, in the 14th Aldermanic District.

Resolution approving the State/Municipal Maintenance Agreement Between the City of Milwaukee and The State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the purpose of delegating responsibilities for maintenance for a green infrastructure project in an area around the Port of Milwaukee Overpass. This resolution also authorizes the Department of Public Works, Infrastructure Services Division, to accept The State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation funding for the post installation maintenance of the green infrastructure with a maximum reimbursement amount of $150,000 over a 10-year period.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) are entering in to an intergovernmental cooperation agreement (ICA) outlining the shared responsibilities for constructing a green infrastructure project at the subject location; and
Whereas, Per the terms of the ICA between the City of Milwaukee and the MMSD, the City is obligated to abide by the terms of a maintenance covenant for the green infrastructure project for a period of 10 years; and
Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) owns the land on which the green infrastructure project is being constructed; and
Whereas, WisDOT desires to participate in the green infrastructure project by permitting said work; and
Whereas, WisDOT further agrees to contribute up to $150,000 over a 10-year period towards the City’s maintenance efforts; now, therefore, be it
