This resolution reserves $10,000 from the 1997 Common Council Contingent Fund for safety glasses for city employes, to supplement the amount provided ($17,363)in the Department of Employee Relations 1997 budget.
BODY:
Whereas, $17,363 was provided in the Department of Employee Relations' 1997 budget to pay for safety glasses for city employes as required by labor agreements; and
Whereas, The actual costs of providing these safety glasses for 1997 is projected to exceed $26,000; and
Whereas, If the amount of $10,000 is not appropriated from the Common Council Contingent Fund to cover the deficit, the Department of Employee Relations will have to stop issuing safety glasses immediately, resulting in a violation of labor agreements; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That the Comptroller is authorized and directed to reserve $10,000 from the 1997 Common Council Contingent Fund Account No. 09-910-8000 for potential transfer to the Department of Employee Relations Services Account (01-165-6300) and to transfer the reserved funds as needed for payment of safety glasses for city employes.
