Title
Substitute resolution authorizing an amendment to the Water Service Agreement with the Village of Menomonee Falls.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes an amendment to the Water Service Agreement between the City of Milwaukee and the Village of Menomonee Falls. The Water Service Agreement amendment will expand the water service area as delineated in “Appendix A - Amendment” attached to this file.
Body
Whereas, Common Council File Number 971166 authorized the execution of a water service agreement between the City of Milwaukee and the Village of Menomonee Falls; and
Whereas, Common Council File Number 071313, adopted February 26, 2008, renewed the Water Service Agreement with Menomonee Falls for the purchase of water at wholesale; and
Whereas, In the 1997 agreement, Menomonee Falls agreed to limit water service to an area delineated on a map attached to the agreement as Appendix A and dated October 29, 1997; and
Whereas, Menomonee Falls has requested to expand the water service area limits to include additional developed residential and commercial properties; and
Whereas, The expanded water service area more closely corresponds to the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District service area; and
Whereas, The expanded water service area is delineated on a map titled “Appendix A - Amendment” and attached to this file; and
Whereas, Milwaukee Water Works evaluated the request for an expanded service area and found sufficient hydraulic capacity is available; and
Whereas, The expanded service area will have no impact on Milwaukee Water Works operations; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper city officials are authorized and directed to execute an amendment to the Water Service Agreement with the Village of Menomonee Falls, in substantially the same form as the amendment attached to this resolution; and...
