Body
Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation, in reconstructing the I-94 North-South Freeway, will be closing the Layton Avenue bridge over I-94 for at least 6 months; and
Whereas, The bridge closure will cause an increase in traffic on North 13th Street and the intersection of West Bolivar Avenue and North 13th Street will likely warrant the installation of a traffic signal; and
Whereas, The total estimated cost of installing a traffic signal at the intersection is $61,000; and
Whereas, Common Council File #081338 authorized execution of a Project Agreement (Project ID 1030-20-99) between the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the City of Milwaukee to provide 100% reimbursement of actual costs for necessary services and items provided by the city for local street vehicular traffic impact mitigation measures in conjunction with the Mitchell Interchange and I-94 North/South Corridor construction; now, therefore, be it
