Title
Resolution authorizing the Department of Neighborhood Services to enter into a short-term sub-lease agreement for the use of office space at the Hill Building, 906 West Mitchell Street.

Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Department of Neighborhood Services to enter into a sub-lease agreement with United Migrant Opportunity Services (UMOS) for the use of office space at the Hill Building, 906 West Mitchell Street. DNS has been using 9,000 square feet of office space at the facility since the adoption of Common Council File Number 881901 on February 14, 1989. That resolution authorized a 5-year lease with the option of a 5-year extension, which the City exercised in 1994. The lease was extended for 2 years by Common Council File Number 990766 (adopted September 28, 1999) and the DNS employes at that facility were to re-locate to newly remodeled office space in another City building in January 2002. Unforeseen delays in the remodeling project, however, have prevented this move, and the department now wants to enter into a sub-lease arrangement for a period not to exceed 12 months with the current Lessee of its former space at the Hill Building for use of a portion of its former space.
