This resolution authorizes settlement of the lawsuit of Ingham v. City of Milwaukee, et al., in the amounts of $27,676.86 and $6,044.40. _____________________________________________
BODY:
Whereas, The plaintiff, Marilyn Ingham has filed a lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee; and
Whereas, A jury trial was held on February 9 and 10, 1998, returning with a verdict finding the City 50% liable for damages; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $27,676.86 payable to the order of Marilyn Ingham and James Mentkowski, S.C. and a City check in the amount of $6,044.40 payable to the order of MidAmerica Mutual Life Insurance Company in full and final settlement of this lawsuit, upon receipt of a stipulation and order of dismissal, approved as to form and execution by the City Attorney, said amount to be charged to the Damages and Claims Fund, Account No. 01-149-0-6382--013-8001.
