Analysis
The City of Milwaukee has had agreements with the Village of West Milwaukee for the provision of emergency medical and fire services since 1990. This resolution authorizes
the City to enter into a new agreement with the Village of West Milwaukee for the provision of emergency medical and fire services.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee has had agreements with the Village of West Milwaukee for the provision of emergency medical and fire services since 1990; and
 
Whereas, The agreement was amended in 2003 to bring the cost of the agreement in line with the actual expenses for these services; and
 
Whereas, Payments under the current agreement can vary on an annual basis by more than 10%; and
 
Whereas, It is advantageous for both communities to enter into a new agreement that reduces the volatility in annual the payment; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper City officers are authorized to execute an intergovernmental cooperation agreement between the City of Milwaukee and the Village of West Milwaukee for the provision of emergency medical and fire services, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit A.
