This resolution authorizes cancellation of balance of cash advanced to Westside Conservation Corporation and North Division Neighborhood Association under the Community Development Block Grant.
Body
Whereas, Westside Conservation Corporation and North Division Neighborhood Association received funding under the Community Development Block Grant; and
Whereas,The cash advance granted to the Westside Conservation Corporation and North Division Neighborhood Association in excess of the total amount of grant awards had remaining balances of $34,135.53 and $8,145.43, respectively.
Whereas, Efforts by the Comptroller's Office and the Office of the City Attorney to obtain repayment of the cash advance will be fruitless; and
Whereas, The agencies are no longer in existence and the cost of any attempts to recover the monies would be in excess of the amounts recovered; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the cash advance balances of $34,135.53 and $8,145.43 held by Westside Conservation Corporation and North Division Neighborhood Association, respectively, be and are hereby cancelled; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer the sum of $42,280.96 from the 2001 Common Council Contingency Fund Account No. 0001-9990-0001-C001-2001-006300 to an account within the Contingency Fund (CDBG Cash Advance W/O - 0001-2110-0001-C033-2001-006300) for the purpose of writing off the Westside Conservation and North Division Neighborhood cash advance balances.
Further Resolved, That the $42,280.96 will be expended by the City Comptroller for year 2001.
