- ANALYSIS -
 
This resolution is in response to a Common Council directive which requires the Commissioner of Public Works to determine any accruing benefits as a result of a vacation. Since the vacation is in a renewal area, as defined by File Number 79-337, benefit assessments will not be levied.
 
 
BODY:
Whereas, The Common Council on March 3, 1998, adopted File Number 971694 directing the Commissioner of Public Works to assess the benefits and damages in the vacation of E. Chicago St. between N. Water St. and the Milwaukee River located in the 4th Aldermanic District of the City of Milwaukee; and
 
Whereas, The Commissioner of Public Works is required by law to assess benefits or damages for a street or alley vacation; and
 
Whereas, Said Council adopted File Numbers 971014 and 971313 waiving benefit assessments for this vacation; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that although the Commissioner of Public Works has determined there to be benefits and damages accruing or arising from said vacation, the same shall not be levied in accordance with File Numbers 971014 and 971313.
