Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for the Lead Demonstration Grant Project from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  The purpose of the project is to make an additional 1,295 housing units lead-safe and to contract with a community-based organization to assure lead-safe and habitable housing in the southside target area.      

BODY:

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the  U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to make an additional 1,295 housing units lead-safe and to contract with a community-based organization to assure lead-safe and habitable housing in the southside target area; now, therefore, be it     

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is authorized.
