Analysis
This resolution authorizes the issuance of a permit to the Opus North Corporation which will allow the company to occupy a portion of W. Wells Street between N. 12th and N. 13th Streets during construction of a Marquette University parking structure located on the north side of W. Wells Street. Opus would occupy roughly the northern half of the street for a little over one month beginning in late May.
Body
Whereas, Marquette University is building a parking structure on the north side of W. Wells Street between N. 12th and N. 13th Streets; and

Whereas, The University has hired the Opus North Corporation to construct the parking structure; and

Whereas, One of the last phases of construction involves mounting pre-cast concrete components onto the parking structure's W. Wells Street facade; and

Whereas, This work requires that a large crane be situated in W. Wells Street for about 5 weeks beginning around May 24th of this year; and

Whereas, The Commissioner of Public Works may approve temporary occupancy of up to one-third of public rights-of-way while temporary use beyond that point must be approved by the Common Council; and

Whereas, The Department of Public Works and Opus will work to minimize the company's use of W. Wells Street and will ensure that traffic lanes sufficient to adequately accommodate traffic demand remain open at all times; now, therefore, be it
