Substitute resolution relating to acceptance of a gift of computer hardware by the Common Council-City Clerk's Office from an anonymous donor for use by the Historic Preservation Commission.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the City of Milwaukee to accept a gift of 3 personal computers from an anonymous donor for use by the staff of the Historic Preservation Commission.
Body
Whereas, Section 304-24 of the City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances regulates the receipt, appropriation, and expenditure of contributions received by the City; and
Whereas, An anonymous donor wishes to give the City 3 personal computers for use by the staff of the Historic Preservation Commission; and
Whereas, The City Clerk has determined that acceptance of this generous gift will greatly enhance the City's historic preservation efforts; and
Whereas, It is the intent of the City Clerk that the 3 personal computers will be used by interns to provide additional support to the Historic Preservation Commission; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City graciously accepts this generous gift of 3 personal computers from an anonymous donor for use by the staff of the Historic Preservation Commission; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Clerk shall take charge of this donation and see that the 3 personal computers are used as intended by the anonymous donor; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Common Council expresses its sincere appreciation to the anonymous donor for this generous gift.
