Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept and fund a FY2024 Homeland Security Program Mobile Field Force Republican National Convention grant from the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs Wisconsin Emergency Management in the amount of $117,298.67 with a city share of $0 and a grantor share of $117,298.67. The purpose of the grant is for the purchase of mobile field force equipment to support security and law enforcement for the 2024 Republican National Convention.

Whereas, Under AL#97.067, the City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs Wisconsin Emergency Management for the purchase of mobile field force equipment to support security and law enforcement for the 2024 Republican National Convention; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 2/1/2024 to 5/31/2024 would cost $117,298.67 of which, $0 (0%) would be provided by the city and $117,298.67 (100%) would be provided by the grantor; now therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2024 Special Revenue - Grant and Aid Projects the following amounts for the program/project titled FY2024 Mobile Field Force RNC Grant:
