This resolution will permit the replacement of two signs with somewhat larger signs for an existing church with a preschool program.
BODY:
Whereas, Section 295-814(5) of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances permits variations to planned developments after approval of the Common Council; and
 
Whereas, The detailed plan for Lakeview Village was first approved by the Common Council in 1969 and subsequently amended several times; and
 
Whereas, A church, the Risen Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church, wishes to replace two existing signs with new, internally illuminated signs on each abutting street; and
 
Whereas, The sign facing West Brown Deer Road would contain approximately 50 square feet and the sign facing North 96th Street would contain approximately 24 square feet; and
 
Whereas, The proposed changes are consistent with the spirit and intent of the approved plans and would not adversely affect surrounding development; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the minor modification to the approved plan permitting the relocation and enlargement of two signs is approved.
