Resolution relative to acceptance and funding of a 2019 Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Urban Forestry grant - Urban Forestry Career Outreach Toolkit Implementation.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works - Operations Division (Forestry Section) to accept and fund a 2019 Urban Forestry grant from Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) in the amount of $50,000 with a city share of $25,000 and a grantor share of $25,000. The purpose of the grant is to implement a career outreach campaign using the Urban Forestry Career Outreach Toolkit, developed as part of the City’s 2018 Urban Forestry grant, to promote awareness of the urban forestry profession among young adult and non-traditional audiences.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from WDNR to implement a career outreach campaign using the Urban Forestry Career Outreach Toolkit, developed as part of the City’s 2018 Urban Forestry grant, to promote awareness of the urban forestry profession among young adult and non-traditional audiences; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 1/1/2019 to 12/31/2019 would cost $50,000 of which, $25,000 (50%) would be provided in-kind by the city and $25,000 (50%) would be provided by the grantor; now therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Department of Public Works shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2019 Special Revenue - Grant and Aid Projects the following amounts for the program/project titled 2018 Urban Forestry:
