- ANALYSIS - This resolution allocates $40,000 from the Riverfront and Other Downtown Planning and Improvements Fund (Project #PR01880000). These funds will be used to acquire and install Historic Third Ward style street lights along the East Chicago Street frontage of the new Milwaukee Magazine offices located on the south side of East Chicago between North Milwaukee and North Jefferson Streets.


BODY:
Whereas, The Historic Third Ward continues to experience revitalization and reinvestment; and

Whereas, One important ingredient in the Historic Third Ward's ongoing success is its unique streetscaping including its distinctive street lights; and

Whereas, Milwaukee Magazine is relocating to a newly renovated building located on the south side of East Chicago Street between North Milwaukee and North Jefferson Streets; and

Whereas, The recently constructed Third Ward parking structure is located directly across East Chicago Street from the magazine's new offices; and

Whereas, Third Ward style street lights have been installed adjacent to the parking structure; and

Whereas, It would be desirable to complete the street lighting on this block by installing Third Ward street lights adjacent to the new Milwaukee Magazine building; and

Whereas, It is estimated that acquisition and installation of Third Ward style street lights along the south side of East Chicago Street between North Jefferson and North Milwaukee Streets would cost approximately $40,000; and

Whereas, Funds for this work are available in the Riverfront and Other Downtown Planning and Improvements...
