Substitute resolution to ratify and confirm an agreement between the city of Milwaukee and Public Employees' Union Local #61, LIUNA, AFL-CIO, CLC, relative to the settlement of certain grievances.

Analysis

 

This resolution approves the settlement terms between the City of Milwaukee and Public Employees' Union Local #61, relative the settlement of a grievance involving two employees who had been laid off from the Field Headquarters Coordinator job classification in the Department of Public Works in fiscal year 2005.

Body

Whereas, The City negotiating team and Public Employees' Union Local #61, LIUNA, AFL-CIO, CLC reached a settlement for a grievance prior to grievance arbitration hearings; and

 

Whereas, This grievance settlement agreement constitutes the full and complete settlement of the grievance which is set forth in the settlement agreement and copies of this settlement agreement are attached to this file and incorporated herein as though fully set forth at length; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that this settlement agreement between the City negotiating team City and Public Employees' Union Local #61, LIUNA, AFL-CIO, CLC, the terms of which are set forth in a document annexed to this file, be approved; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to take the necessary action to implement the terms of this agreement; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That such sums as are necessary for the implementation of the aforementioned settlement agreement in accordance with its terms and conditions be obtained for and charged to the appropriate departmental budget accounts in accordance with the customary reporting and accounting requirements.
