This ordinance adjusts vacations benefits for city employes; management and nonmanagement, nonrepresented employes will earn 27 days of vacation annually after 17 years of service, instead of 21 years.
BODY:
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1. Section 350-40-3-a-1-c, d and g, and a-2 of the code is amended to read:

350-40. Vacations.

3. TIME EARNED FOR ANNUAL VACATION PERIOD.

a. Full Time Employes.

a-1-c. 6.8 hours per pay period for employes who have completed at least 11 years but less than [[21]] >>17>> years of active service.

a-1-d. 8.4 hours per pay period for employes who have completed at least [[21]] >>17<< years of active service.

a-1-g. Effective pay period 1, 1996, the amount of vacation earned by an employe in 1995 for use in 1996 shall be placed in a transitional vacation account (TVA) [[for up to 5 years]]. TVA hours may be scheduled and used as vacation hours with the approval of the department head. Employes may not borrow vacation hours unless and until TVA hours have been exhausted.

a-2. Public officials appointed pursuant to s. 66.146, Wis. Stats., shall be entitled to 5.3 hours per pay period, regardless of length of service. If a public official has at least 11 but less than [[21]] >>17<< years of active service with the city, the official shall be entitled to 6.8 hours per pay period. If a public official has at least [[21]] >>17<< years of active service with the city, the official shall be entitled to 8.4 hours per pay period.
