This resolution directs the Department of Employee Relations to provide the Common Council, Direct Connect MKE, and all Community Development Block Grant-funded Neighborhood Stabilization Programs with an inventory of all City apprenticeship and internship programs.
Body
Whereas, Currently, many City departments offer internship programs or other apprenticeship opportunities; and

Whereas, There is no single location where these opportunities can be viewed by prospective applicants, making it more difficult for prospective applicants to find opportunities that appeal to them; and

Whereas, It is in the interest of the City to have an accessible database of internship programs or other apprenticeship opportunities to maximize opportunities for recruiting talented, young individuals; and

Whereas, The 2024 Budget was adopted by Common Council File Number 230001 on November 3, 2023; and

Whereas, Amendment 26 placed a footnote in the 2024 Budget “directing the Department of Employee Relations to provide the Common Council, Direct Connect MKE, and all Community Development Block Grant-funded Neighborhood Stabilization Programs with an inventory of all city apprenticeship and internship programs”; now, therefore, be it now, therefore, be it
