Analysis

This resolution authorizes the City Attorney to Request Proposals for the Collection Contracts for Municipal Court Judgments and for Receivables of the City of Milwaukee to commence January 1, 2002.

Body

Whereas, On January 1, 1997, the City of Milwaukee entered into a 5 year contract with Professional Account Management, L.L.C. for the collection of Municipal Court Judgments and entered into a 5 year contract with the Kohn Law Firm for the collection of City receivables; and

Whereas, These collection contracts will expire on December 31, 2001, and

Whereas, The City must request proposals from prospective bidders for collection contracts to commence on January 1, 2002; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the City Attorney is authorized to request proposals for the contracts commencing on January 1, 2002 for the collection of City receivables and Municipal Court Judgments.
