Analysis

This resolution directs the Department of City Development to prepare a resolution which vacates said portions of streets and alleys in accordance with vacation proceedings under power granted to the City of Milwaukee by Section 66.297(1), Wisconsin Statutes, and Section 81-308-28, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances. This vacation has been requested by the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee and is necessary for the sale and redevelopment of land within the Park West "E" Redevelopment Project.

Body

Whereas, It has been proposed by the Department of City Development that all of the streets and alleys in the blocks bounded by North 21st Street, West Fond du Lac Avenue, West North Avenue, North 23rd Street and West Lloyd Street from a point 130.79 feet North of the north line of West Lloyd Street be vacated pursuant to the provisions of Section 66.297, Wisconsin Statutes; and

Whereas, The vacation of said portions of streets and alleys are necessary for the sale and redevelopment of land within the Park West "E" Redevelopment Project; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Department of City Development is directed to prepare a resolution to vacate said portions of streets and alleys in accordance with Section 81-308-28 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances.
