Analysis
This resolution authorizes the honorary naming of W. Martin Drive east of N. 55th Street in front of the Milwaukee Radio Group property to Bob and Brian Way.
Body
Whereas, Bob and Brian have been radio personalities for 20 years on 102.9 FM; and

Whereas, They have become an institution with their entertainment of hundreds of thousands of Milwaukeeans over the years; and

Whereas, They have raised millions of dollars for charities such as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Hunger Task Force and the MACC Fund; and

Whereas, Section 113-3 of the Code of Ordinances provides for a procedure for the assignment of honorary street names; and

Whereas, Section 113-3-6 specifies criteria for the use of the names of individuals as honorary street names; and

Whereas, The Common Council finds that the honorary naming of W. Martin Drive east of N. 55th Street in front of the Milwaukee Radio Group property to Bob and Brian Way would for the reasons specified above meet the criteria of s. 113-3-6; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the honorary name “Bob and Brian Way” is assigned to the segment of W. Martin Drive east of N. 55th Street in front of the Milwaukee Radio Group property; and, be it

Further Resolved, That this honorary street naming shall comply with design specifications determined by the Department of Public Works; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the petitioner has requested that a street sign made by the petitioner be installed, at no cost to the City; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the petitioner shall notify the Department of Public Works of the need to install the honorary street sign; and, be it
